ACWA Power Sasakura has signed a contract with the Saline Water Conversion Corporation, for a total of SR 209.6 million. The project involves:

a) Replacement of the entire tubes bundles, tube sheets, tube support plates and tie rods.
b) Stainless steel lining.
c) Replacement of cover plates for Flashing Brine Gates for all stages.
d) Cladding entire vapor side areas with stainless steel plate.
e) Re-design and installation of existing evaporator venting system at (10) desal evaporator units.

On 12th December, 2005, APS has been awarded a Project worth SR 709 million (USD 190 million) by Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) as EPC contractor for six plants at different locations (details given below) at Saudi West Coast to build simultaneously in 30 months duration.

 Jeddah 4 Desalination Plant Rehabilitation Project:

        APS has successfully completed the 'Venting System' and 'Tube Replacement' of the first two units (DS11 & DS13) and it start operating from June 20, 2005 as per schedule (on time)

        APS has successfully completed the 'Venting System' and 'Tube Replacement' of the second two units (DS12 & DS14) and it start operating from Dec. 05, 2005 as per schedule (on time)

        APS has successfully completed the 'Venting System' and 'Tube Replacement' of the third two units (DS19 & DS20) and it start operating from May 2006 ahead of its schedule time.

        APS has successfully completed the 'Venting System' and 'Tube Replacement' of the fourth two units (DS16 & DS18) and it start operating from November, 2005 ahead of its schedule time.

        APS has started to rehabilitate the fifth two units (DS15 & DS17) which are scheduled to operate in May 2007, ahead of its schedule time.
